Work
There are many different types of energy in baseball. Gravitational potential energy, elastic energy, sound energy, thermal energy, potential and kinetic energy. Potential energy simulates when the ball is not in motion. Kinetic energy simulates when the ball is in motion. When hitting or throwing a baseball, work must be done in order for there to be movement of the baseball. However there must be negative and positive work and there must be a change in energy. (Potential energy to Kinetic energy or vice versa). In hitting, batters can store energy up in preparation to hit the ball. As you begin to load, all the potential energy begins to convert into kinetic energy.
